Week 6: Ringing in the New Year 2009 in Review Welcome to Week 6 of the 52-Week Challenge. As we embrace a new year in our lives, let’s take a look at what we really want to accomplish in the next twelve months and beyond. We’ve gone out and purchased our new planners for the year, or set up the new program if you are digitally inclined. We’ve already started to write down or enter in appointments, scheduled events, birthdays, you name it. But it goes beyond that, doesn’t it? It’s not just about keeping dates… it’s creating a quality life that is rich in texture and brimming with experiences. So it starts with your getting in state, with an abundance of physical energy and the right mindset to plan your individual and global outcomes. Be sure to pick a comfortable setting that is conducive to creation as well as focus. You may wish to use a sketch pad, or something larger than letter size, and a black felt pen, or even an array of colors. Let’s begin by reviewing this past year. Do an assessment and make a list of the following: 1) Accomplishments/progress in the five areas of your life: a. Physical b. Emotional c. Financial d. Relationship(s) e. Spiritual
2) What significant events took place that had an impact on your life?
3) What were some lessons that came out of your experiences?
4) What contributions did you make to the greater good?
5) How and in what areas did you grow?
6) What didn’t you achieve in 2009 that you are committed to making happen in 2010?
After you have completed this first step of the process, you will be ready to articulate your ideas for the New Year and design your future. Stay tuned for Part Two of this week’s Challenge: Planning for the New Year – 2010! And remember to stay true to who are you.
