Thank you for joining us in the 52 Week Tuneup Challenge ™! This week’s Featured Tuneup™ is “Favorite Things”. Throughout the week we will be sending you special Bonus Tuneups to help you implement this week’s Tuneup Challenge™! Week 3 - Bonus Tuneup #1: Favorite Things to Be Thankful ForAs we approach Thanksgiving, let’s take some time to reflect on the many things we love, for which we are grateful. According to Albert Schweitzer: “To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself to never put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.” So what are you grateful for? Make it a daily ritual to find as many things as possible to be thankful for. A friend keeps a “Miracle Journal,” and writes down even the smallest miracles, like: - Finding a parking spot in a crowded lot.
- Hearing from an old friend after several years.
- Arriving at your car with the expired meter a minute before the meter maid.
- New shoes on sale!
- Losing 3 pounds.
- Finding the book I’ve been searching for, for months.
- Discovering a new favorite flavor of frozen yogurt.
- Hearing a new song on the radio that I love!!!!
So don’t wait for Thanksgiving Day to be thankful for your favorite things. If you are feeling any negative emotions, counter them with a warm thought of one of your favorite things that you’re grateful for. Condition yourself to wake up with a thought of gratitude. Share your gratitude with other people, and thank them for being in your life. And on Thanksgiving Day, truly celebrate your life, and your favorite things. And remember to Stay True to Who You Are.
