Chapter 6:7 The Wrap Up

< Chapter 6:6                                                       Lessons Learned >

As I wrap up part one of this book, I want to share a couple of quick distinctions. That time spent coaching the leadership team taught me so many valuable lessons and moved me again in a new direction. Financially, I was at an impasse. I had been living on a shoestring before I started that project, so after 4 months of no income, I was facing eviction from my apartment, problems with the IRS and the bureau in charge of child support. In the middle of it all, there was no “hindsight” to be able to see that life was unfolding just as it should. I was doubting my abilities to make a living at what I was doing and needed to create cash flow immediately. I decided to go back to the world that had supported my family for so many years. I contacted some of the clubs I used to work for as a DJ until I found one with an opening.

I wasn’t surrendering my dreams. But I was restructuring my approach. Through working with the financial services company and reading Robert Kiyosaki’s books, I had a new respect for how to create wealth, and more importantly a new plan for my business and my life. I would create the immediate cash flow by DJing. I would use this money to catch up on the rent, straighten up with the IRS and child support, and then use it to finish manufacturing my CD. I also began an Internet venture that I would fund using the money that came from the clubs. Results International would be put on hold until these ventures generated enough cash flow to allow me to promote my seminars the right way.

I spent the next 7 months dividing my energies between DJing and building the Internet business. In March I was able to leave the clubs again was able to support my lifestyle through just the income from the Internet business. What I have also done is returned to my roots. I realized that just teaching “personal development” was not my passion. I realized that my purpose for being on this planet was finally starting to make sense.

My life has been a series of experiences that have allowed me to see the world from perspectives that many people would never be able to even imagine. And God has given me the gift of being able to communicate those experiences through both music and speaking.

I have continued to funnel my energies into following my new business and life plan. My purpose is to Inspire, Educate and Empower others as they make their own personal journey along this plane. I have continued to speak and have changed my focus from personal development to a mixture of personal and spiritual development. Coaching clients continues to be a passion, as I see them grow and make new distinctions every day. I’ve begun performing my music regularly and tying those performances together with my message and the promotion of this book. The Internet venture is on it’s way to showing a huge profit and I have begun to look into other business opportunities that will take advantage of the resources I have developed there. I have networked into a relationship with a company who is interested in promoting me nationally as a speaker and life is heading in a direction I never would have imagined 12 years ago.

Life is a series of opportunities for growth. As I wrap up this chapter and part one of the book, having just passed my 36th birthday, I realize that there is a whole world that lies ahead of me. And for the first time, I truly feel I am heading in the direction that my Creator planned for me. I look and see the amazing person my daughter has become, how my mother grows as I grow, and how I am surrounded by a circle of the most amazing people I have ever met. I know that there may be course corrections and challenges along the way, but as you will find in Part II, that’s ok. I have gained experience, through that experience, I have found strength, and most importantly… Hope.
