Week 4: Change Your Body, Change Your Life!

Welcome to Week 4 of the 52 Week Tuneup Challenge™! Are you ready to transform your body and ultimately transform your life?

Let’s get started by taking an assessment of where you currently are in terms of your physical goals. In order to do this effectively, stand in front of a full-length mirror and look at your external, or physical body. This is the part that creates your identity and image. Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Am I happy with what I see in the mirror?

2. Are there parts of my body that I would like to change, or improve?

3. Am I at my ideal body weight?

4. What is the image you wish others to see when you walk into a room?

5. What is the image you wish to see of yourself?

6. Do you feel you can accomplish more if you had more energy during the day?

7. What is a physical goal that you have had for quite some time, but just haven’t been able to achieve?

Take a few minutes and write down the answers to your assessment, so you have a baseline. Be sure to note the date. In addition, have a friend or family member take pictures of you. These can be your “before” pictures. If you want to lose a few inches around your belly, then take a picture of the excess in your stomach and abdominal area. If you want to focus on tightening your “buns,” then make sure you take a picture of that area of your body. Actually seeing photos will not only show your starting point; they will also provide the leverage to take action!

Now, let’s take a little journey into the future. When you think about what you would like to achieve physically, what do you envision? Would the “future you” weigh less than you do now? Would your clothes fit better? How would you feel in terms of energy level? How would you feel when you walk into a room and people turn to look at you because they feel your powerful presence… the new you?

Take a few minutes and write down what the “future you” would look like. How you would feel. What your energy level would be. And set a target date for achieving these outcomes. The next and perhaps most critical step is for you to make a decision that you will no longer stand for mediocrity and start taking some steps. Starting today, you must shift your focus to this key area of your life, so that you embrace it every single day of your life. Where you make health and fitness your number one priority. It may require a major “Tuneup” that in fact becomes a new lifestyle.
